Liverpool Fire Station is staffed by permanent firefighters, running a Rescue Pumper and Heavy Rescue. The station is a former Defence Force (Army) Fire Station and within the Military area which includes Holsworthy Barracks and Steele Barracks. The area around the fire station has been transforming into commercial real estate as the Army consolidates their presence in the area.
A heavy rescue appliance was moved to 8 station in 2013. They’ve previously run a Ladder Platform appliance also.

Formed 23rd of April 1967. In typical fashion, early meetings of the brigade were held at members’ properties. The brigade moved to its current location in September 1976. The brigade is a water based brigade, operating 3 fire boats and a Land Rover Personnel Carrier capable of towing the vessels to other waterways.
In 2011, major upgrades to the station were completed which include the addition of a 3-berth floating station where the brigade’s fireboats are stored on floating pontoons, and additions to the land section of the station to improve training and welfare areas.

The brigade’s website contains some great photos and information about the running and history of the brigade.
